“Piraverest,” a milestone in sports and charity.
Daniel Rosselló is a 21-year-old man born in Pira (Tarragona). An athlete with a passion for sports, he has been competing in extreme endurance races such as the Spartan Race and Dekafit since he was 17. He has qualified for the world finals in several of these events and is also the first Spaniard to compete in the AG18-24 world championship.
He discovered Asociación Anita our website and chose us to turn a personal challenge into a charitable goal and raise funds for our projects. The challenge was named “Repte Piraverest,” and it moved us all.
Piraverest was accomplished on the weekend of May 9–11, 2025, after many months of training. It took place in Pira, on its highest peak, the “Turó de la Bandera,” which has an elevation gain of 105 meters. Daniel Rosselló set out to climb and descend this peak 86 times in a row, running for more than 48 hours straight, thereby covering over 200 km and accumulating an elevation gain equivalent to that of Mount Everest.
It was an unforgettable weekend, not only because of the incredible physical and mental resilience shown by this young athlete, but also because of his extraordinary ability to inspire and unite his entire town. We were all there cheering him on, and the final result was simply spectacular.

From early Friday morning until well into Sunday morning, family and friends made sure he wasn’t left alone for even a minute. That incredible energy of determination and solidarity swept over all of us—even in the midst of the storm—as we celebrated his great achievement with great emotion after his final descent.
As a result of this unique initiative, €4,090.36 was raised, thanks to the tremendous solidarity shown by the people of Pira and the Conca de Barberà. The entire amount was donated to childhood cancer research and pediatric palliative care.
But what’s more, throughout those months of training, other wonderful things were achieved, such as attending the monthly meeting of the BeWe Community, which also contributed a generous joint donation, thanks to the support of Tei by Cuni Mobilhomes, one of the main sponsors of the Repte Piraverest. The Carrera de la Dona de Pira, organized by the Pira City Council, also joined the cause and donated all proceeds from its registration fees to Asociación Benéfica Anita.

Thank you to the Pira City Council and the AFA at the Antoni Tous School in Pira for their support and for raising awareness, and to Ca La_Ganxeta and Plan B Streetwear, two other companies in Pira that collaborated by donating the proceeds from the sale of various products to Asociación Anita—an example of creativity that is as beautiful as it is charitable.
And thanks to the DJs, musicians, physical therapists, and a whole bunch of volunteers who made that weekend—the unforgettable Piraverest challenge—a true celebration in support of childhood cancer research and the improvement of pediatric palliative care.
