Asociación Benéfica Anita renews its commitment to palliative care patients and their families

On December 3, 2024 we met with the team of the Unit of Complex Chronic and Palliative Pediatric Patients of the Sant Joan de Déu hospital in Barcelona and with the Associació Ressò de Musicoterapia, to know, one more year, the evolution of the Telemedicine and Music Therapy Program funded by Asociación Benéfica Anita since 2021, for children and teenagers who require the care of this Unit at home.

Both programs aim to improve their quality of life, as well as the quality of life of those who accompany them. They help them to live at home with the maximum possible stability and comfort, within their family ecosystem. This is immensely valuable in this transitional stage of life.

After the meeting, we handed over the respective donation checks with the illusion of being able to continue with both programs for another year.

Delivery of the check to Dr. Sergi Navarro, head of the Palliative Care Unit and Complex Chronic Patient of Sant Joan de Déu hospital Barcelona and his team.

For the delivery of the check for Music Therapy we were accompanied by Bru Recolons, Albert Corbella and Alexandre Simoni, from the Impulsa Talentum Foundation and Pedro Robles from the Semon Group, who every year make possible the fantastic #NitdelTalent Gala in favor of Asociación Benéfica Anita, whose proceeds go to this project.

We were also able to interview Nuria Bonet, music therapist at Associació Ressó, and Lucía Peñarrubia, nurse at the palliative care unit, where they explained what it has meant for the children and their families, and for the medical team itself, that the music therapists can take the music therapy sessions to the patients' homes during these years.

Thanks to all of you who, with your support and donations, make it possible for us to help so many children and teenagers in need.
