Asociación Anita is declared of public utility (Resolution JUS/456/2018 - March 12, 2018).
Research in both curative treatments and palliative care is critical to ensure that cancer patients receive the best possible care.

In this case, when it happens to you (when you are told that your daughter has cancer) it is already too late to react. You have to worry now, in order to cure children who have cancer tomorrow (research takes years to be effective)."

Asociación Benéfica Anita was born in 2014 to try to solve a serious problem that affects most childhood tumors: The Lack of Research, and therefore, of effective treatments, especially in cases of relapse.
Since then we have not stopped working to raise funds to investigate the Germ Cell Tumor in children and teenagers... the tumor that took Anita's life, the raison d'être of the Association, a few months after it was founded.

Childhood "Germ Cell Tumor" is a type of "developmental cancer", and they all actually occur randomly during gestation, so any child can be affected by this mutation during organ development. "IT IS A GENETIC LOTTERY".

The main challenge for scientists is to be able to guarantee CONTINUOUS RESEARCH in order to obtain significant results. While raising funds on an ad hoc basis to solve needs (machines, consumables, clinical trials, etc.) is very valid and vital, the most difficult and scientifically valuable thing is to keep this funding stable in the long term.
